For the first time in over 400 years there was a total lunar eclipse during the winter solstice. It was too cloudy where I live to see all of it, but we could see it happening, barely. I assume there are millions of other people who also looked to the sky to see only clouds.
So for those people; the ones who wanted to see it and couldn't, the people who go to bed at 9p.m. because they have to work, the people who didn't even realize this life-changing astronomical event was happening, or anyone else who missed out, here is a time-lapse video of the event, as well as a few interesting pictures. Enjoy.
